Friday saw a small decline in S&P 500 futures following the benchmark for the entire market’s brief rise above 5,500.
Futures linked to the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 10 points, while S&P 500 futures dipped by 0.1%. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 were close to the flat line. On Thursday, the S&P 500 ended the day 0.25% down.
The broad market index rose as much as 0.34% to reach 5,505.53 at the day’s peak. After reaching an all-time high earlier in the day, the Nasdaq Composite also experienced a decline of 0.79%.
Outperforming all three major averages, the Dow with 30 stocks saw its greatest day of the month rise by almost 300 points, or 0.77%.
