U.S. equities fell Tuesday following a significant sell-off on Wall Street, following the implementation of President Donald Trump’s tariffs on China, Canada, and Mexico, which prompted retaliation from some of those nations.
At 0.9%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 396 points. Both the Nasdaq Composite and the S&P 500 had losses of 0.7% and 0.6%.
On Canada and Mexico, the United States imposed 25% levies, which went into force at midnight. Trump also levied an extra 10% tax on goods originating from China.
