Monday’s stock futures saw minimal movement as speculators sought to drive stocks back to all-time highs following the Federal Reserve’s announcement that rate reduction will soon occur.
S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq-100 futures both saw a 0.2% increase. Only 15 points were added to the Dow Jones Industrial Average futures.
The Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s remarks that interest rate decreases are imminent contributed to the positive week that stocks had last week.
In particular, some concerning economic data that precipitated a sell-off at the start of August and alarmed investors that high borrowing costs could harm the U.S. economy have Wall Street eagerly awaiting a rate decrease.
