After the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite had their second consecutive winning day, U.S. stock futures saw minimal movement on Tuesday.
Futures for the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 both saw 0.1% gains. The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures gained 49 points, or 0.1%.
Monday’s gains were 1.24% for the tech-heavy Nasdaq and 0.55% for the more general S&P 500 test. With a 0.06% decline, the 30-stock Dow did poorly.
The spike in chip stocks following Foxconn’s record-breaking fourth-quarter revenue helped drive Monday’s gains for the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq. Although the VanEck Semiconductor ETF (SMH) gained more than 3%, artificial intelligence darling Nvidia finished at a record.
