As shares of market leader Nvidia fell for a second day, the S&P 500 saw minimal movement on Friday.
Although the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.1%, the broad market index remained close to the flatline.
With a mere 10 points gain, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose. Emily Roland, co-chief investment strategist at John Hancock Investment Management, stated that technology companies are still popular.
“It’s been a major factor in driving the market action lately, and I can’t recall a period when one single stock… has been so influential on the market.”
