Gains in Nvidia, a chipmaker, offset concerns that the Federal Reserve would postpone interest rate decreases, and the Nasdaq ended Friday at a new all-time high.
The Nasdaq Composite finished 1.1% higher at 16,920.79, while the S&P 500 increased 0.7% to close at 5,304.72. At 39,069.59, the Dow Jones Industrial Average finished 0.01%, or 4.3 points, higher.
The S&P 500 has gained just 0.03% over the week. With a gain of 1.41%, the tech-heavy Nasdaq outpaced. In the meantime, the Dow dropped 2.33%, its first losing week in five.
