Futures for U.S. stocks dropped on Friday as investors awaited the release of fresh economic data.
Together with Nasdaq-100 futures, S&P 500 futures saw a 0.3% decrease. 50 points, or 0.1%, were taken off futures linked to the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
The actions take place as Wall Street looks ahead to Friday’s 8:30 a.m. ET release of December’s nonfarm payrolls number.
A 155,000 increase is anticipated by economists surveyed by Dow Jones, which is smaller than the 227,000 jump in the estimate from November. It’s also anticipated that the jobless rate would stay at 4.2%.
