Futures For Stocks Have Increased Modestly

Following successful sessions for the Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500, U.S. stock futures increased on Tuesday as Wall Street attempted to gain traction.

Futures contracts linked to the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 48 points, or 0.1%. S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures each saw gains of 0.3% and 0.4%.

During Monday’s primary trading session, the Nasdaq Composite increased 1.6%, marking its largest gain of the month. Nearly 0.7% was added to the S&P 500. The Nasdaq registered its largest one-day gain since August as a result of the two benchmarks halting a four-day decline. The Dow decreased by 0.1%.

The 10-year Treasury yield increased by around 9 basis points, reaching its highest level since November 2007, although notable gains were still made by the overall market index and the tech-heavy Nasdaq points to trade at 4.34% basis points. The tandem jump in yields and tech shares on Monday was particularly notable for Wall Street because tech shares often do poorly in high-rate environments.
