As investors prepared for major corporate earnings announcements, including those from well-known tech companies, stock futures were quiet on Tuesday.
Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.3%, or 132 points. Nasdaq 100 futures were trading close to the flatline, while S&P 500 futures dropped 0.1%.
After the manufacturer released full-year guidance that was at the lower half of its previously established range, Ford Motor fell roughly 6%.
However, after releasing better-than-expected results, North Face parent company VF Corp surged 21%. Those actions follow a successful Wall Street session for the three main indexes.
Interestingly, the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite recorded its eighth winning session in the last nine, while the blue-chip Dow ended a five-day losing trend.
