Friday’s gains in US stock futures came as traders tried to recover from a weak September. Futures on the Nasdaq 100 added 0.1%, while futures on the S&P 500 increased by almost 0.2%.
45 points, or 0.1%, were added to futures linked to the Dow Jones Industrial Average. In addition to their impressive week-to-date achievements, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite just finished their fourth winning session together.
With the Nasdaq rising 5.3% this week, the overall market index is up almost 3.5%. It is a 1.9% gain on the Dow.
At the Federal Reserve’s policy meeting on September 17–18, which is widely expected to result in a 25 basis point interest rate drop, Wall Street is now anticipating this move. 5.25% to 5.5% is the Fed’s current target rate.
