Wall Street was trying to regain its footing in September, and the S&P 500 was headed for back-to-back gains on Tuesday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased by 116 points, or around 0.3%, while the broad market index increased by 0.3%. Approximately 0.7% was earned by the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite.
After climbing more than 2% at its peak of the day, Nvidia saw a 0.8% increase in trading before steadily declining.
Additionally higher were Microsoft, AMD, and Alphabet. With the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) down more than 7% this quarter, tech companies have not been doing well lately.
High-flying IT names are being dumped by investors as their concerns about the state of the economy intensify.
