To start the last trading week of August, stock futures slightly increased.
S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 futures both increased by 0.21% and 0.31%, respectively, while Dow Jones Industrial Average futures gained 86 points, or roughly 0.25%.
After Jerome Powell, the chairman of the Federal Reserve, made some new comments, stocks just finished a positive session. The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 247.48 points, or 0.7%, on Friday but fell by 0.45% for the whole week. While the Nasdaq Composite gained around 0.9%, the S&P 500 added approximately 0.7%. With gains of approximately 0.8% and 2.3%, respectively, the broad-based and tech-heavy indexes recorded their first profitable week in four.
