Shares of Magnum Ice Cream Company, the parent of Ben & Jerry’s, soared 18% after Reuters reported that private equity firms Blackstone and CDR are in the early stages of exploring a potential bid for the company.
This development comes just six months after Magnum spun off from Unilever to become the world’s largest standalone ice cream maker.
The private equity firms are monitoring the company’s share price before deciding whether to pursue a takeover.
As of Friday trading, the stock remains at a similar level since the spin-off was completed on December 8, 2025.
