Ahead of Friday’s major labour data, buyers snapped up cheap technology stocks, causing the Nasdaq Composite to rise on Thursday after two straight losing sessions.
This tech-heavy benchmark increased by 0.4%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 180 points, or 0.45%, while the S&P 500 remained close to the flatline.
Nvidia ended the day up 3%, headed by popular megacap and chip stocks. Each of Meta Platforms, Alphabet, and Apple had a 1% increase. Amazon saw a 3% increase, and Intel saw a 2% boost.
