The S&P 500 fluctuated on Tuesday as investors awaited inflation data at the end of the shorter trading week to gain a better view of the market’s future.
The broad market index remained relatively unchanged, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.3%.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average underperformed, dropping 139 points, or 0.4%.
Nvidia shares rose more than 4%, with momentum from last week’s excellent performance pushing the tech-heavy Nasdaq higher. Salesforce, on the other hand, fell more than 1%, weighing heavily on the blue-chip Dow.
