Although the S&P 500 experienced a slight decline, the Dow Jones Industrial Average saw a minimal drop of 39 points, or 0.1%. In contrast, the Nasdaq Composite displayed a modest increase of 0.2%.
These recent movements come after a successful day on Wall Street to commence the final trading week of 2023. Due to the Christmas Day holiday, the stock market remained closed on Monday.
Tuesday’s gains brought the S&P 500 within 0.5% of its record closing high of 4,796.56, which was achieved in January 2022. Moreover, the Nasdaq-100 achieved an all-time high during the previous session.
