The Wall Street recovery from a sharp sell-off earlier this month was attempted when the Dow Jones Industrial Average reached a record high on Thursday.
Roaring 346 points, or 0.8%, was the 30-stock index. Although the Nasdaq Composite only increased by 0.1%, the S&P 500 increased by 0.3%.
Despite Nvidia’s sharp decline—it dropped 6% after the company released its most recent earnings on Wednesday afternoon—Wall Street saw substantial gains.
The AI chip manufacturer reported above-average top and bottom lines in its fiscal second quarter and gave a positive sales estimate for the current quarter.
