Pressure from Rising Treasury Yields Causes the S&P 500 to Sway

A rise higher in Treasury yields heightened concerns about the potential for rate reduction by the Federal Reserve later this year, causing the S&P 500 to trade little lower on Tuesday, giving up an earlier gain.

We saw a 0.2% decline in the S&P 500. The Dow Jones Industrial Average saw a 72-point increase, or over 0.2 percent. At 0.5%, the Nasdaq Composite fell.

After Nvidia on Monday introduced new chips for desktop and laptop PCs that use the same Blackwell architecture, the company’s shares fell more than 2%, reversing earlier gains. The chipmaker had closed the previous session at a record high.

After Bank of America downgraded the electric vehicle manufacturer due to its high valuation and strategy risks, Tesla’s stock fell by about 3%.
