Schumacher, CEO of Unilever, will Leave His Position after Less Than Two Years

After less than two years in the position, Unilever CEO Hein Schumacher is leaving, the business announced on Tuesday.

Current CFO Fernando Fernandez will take over as CEO. Schumacher, who assumed leadership in July 2023 and was entrusted with spearheading the consumer products behemoth’s transformation, will resign as CEO and board director in March and depart the firm on May 31.

The consumer products company stated that his departure was agreed upon by both parties.

The new position will be filled by Fernandez on March 1.

As a result of this revelation, Unilever stated that neither its medium-term forecast nor its 2025 view had changed.

London stock prices were down about 1.6% at 12:29 p.m. Ian Meakins, chairman of Unilever, stated in a statement, “I would like to thank Hein on behalf of the Board for completely resetting Unilever’s strategy, for the discipline and focus he has brought to the company, and for the solid financial progress delivered during 2024.”
