A comeback in Nvidia shares sent the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite higher on Tuesday, a day after the chipmaker’s stock fell. The S&P 500 gained 0.2%, while the Nasdaq rose 0.6%.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average trailed, dropping 108 points (0.3%). Nvidia’s stock increased more than 2%.
The stock fell more than 6% the previous session, its largest one-day decrease since April 19, when it lost 10%.
The recent loss brought the AI darling deeper into correction territory, bringing stock more than 13% below its intraday high.
Other semiconductor stocks, such as Super Micro Computer, Qualcomm, and Broadcom, were all under pressure on Monday.
