On Wednesday, the S&P 500 experienced a decline as Treasury yields rose in response to robust U.S. economic data. The broad market index fell by 0.6%, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dipping 52 points or 0.1%, and the Nasdaq Composite, being tech-oriented, was down by 0.9%.
Charles Schwab saw a drop of nearly 3% following the release of their mixed quarterly results. Similarly, Intel and Caterpillar both saw declines of around 3%, leading to losses in the Dow. On the other hand, Boeing managed to gain 1.6% and emerged as the top gainer in the Dow, a positive turn after experiencing significant losses over the past few weeks.
