S&P 500 Dips as Consumer Sentiment Cools, but is still on Track for Weekly Gain

The S&P 500 dipped Friday, retreating from record highs amid a drop in consumer optimism.

The broad market index fell 0.3%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 131 points, or 0.3%. The Nasdaq Composite index also fell 0.1%.

Consumer sentiment fell to 65.6 in June from 69.1 in May. This result was also lower than the 71.5 Dow Jones prediction.
