The benchmark index, the S&P 500, concluded Monday’s trading day lower after earlier advances that had helped it reach its highest intraday level in nine months.
The Nasdaq Composite index declined 0.09% to close at 13,229.43, while the S&P shed 0.2% to end the day at 4,273.79 points. To finish at 33,562.86 points, or a 0.59% decrease, the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 199.90 points.
After reaching all-time highs earlier in the session, Apple fell by around 0.8%. At its annual Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday, the iPhone manufacturer introduced its much awaited virtual reality headset in addition to a host of software improvements.
