As investors wait for the benchmark to surpass its most recent record high, S&P 500 futures increased on Thursday morning.
Nasdaq 100 futures increased by 0.6%, while futures linked to the broad market index climbed 0.4%. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures increased by 0.1%, or 33 points.
The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite both set new records on Tuesday, indicating that stocks are set for a positive week. In observance of Juneteenth, the stock market was closed on Wednesday.
Leading the way, Nvidia became the most valuable business in the world, surpassing Microsoft as the chipmaker and artificial intelligence darling. As the AI revolution propels equities higher, Nvidia’s stock has surged 174% in 2024. The stock gained 2.9% more on Thursday.
