S&P 500 Gains as Benchmark Closes Out a Record-Breaking First Half on Positive Consumer and Inflation Data

The S&P 500 increased on Friday as investors took in new data from the personal consumption expenditures price index, which showed signs of reducing inflation, along with better-than-expected data on consumer mood.

In addition, they are counting down to the year’s end after an impressive first half.

The Nasdaq Composite rose 0.9%, and the overall market index gained 0.7%.

The 0.6% increase in the Dow Jones Industrial Average was 228 points.
