As Wall Street headed for a solid weekly gain, stocks continued to rise, putting the S&P 500 on track for its fifth straight positive session.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 100 points, or 0.2%, while the broad market index increased by 0.1%. The Nasdaq Composite experienced a little increase.
The Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 have both had excellent weeks thus far, and they just finished their fourth consecutive winning session. This week, the Nasdaq has surged 5.3% while the broad market index has gained 3.6%.
The Dow is up 2.3%. Wall Street is now anticipating what is expected to be a 25 basis point interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve during its policy meeting on September 17–18.
