S&P 500 Sways as Wall Street Finds it Difficult to Sustain the Pace of the Recovery

As investors found it difficult to build on the market’s recent comeback surge, stocks moved lower on Tuesday.

The 0.2% decline in the Dow Jones Industrial Average was 61 points. The Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 both saw losses of 0.4% and 0.2%, respectively.

Tuesday’s trading represents a reprieve following the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite’s eighth consecutive session of gains. Since late 2023, that was a first for both of them.
