Stock futures moved slightly on Tuesday morning as investors waited for inflation data due at the end of the truncated trading week to get a better view of the market’s outlook.
Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 44 points, or 0.1%. S&P 500 futures rose 0.1%, while Nasdaq 100 futures rose 0.2%.
Nvidia shares rose more than 2% in premarket trading, putting them on track to improve on last week’s robust gains.
Stocks are expected to end May’s trading month on a high note, with the closing bell on Friday.
Softer inflation statistics earlier this month and better-than-expected quarterly earnings reports boosted optimism, with the former implying that Federal Reserve rate reduction could come earlier than expected.
