As the market prepares for a trading week that will be truncated by holidays, stock futures saw a little increase in overnight trade on Sunday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average’s futures increased by almost 100 points. Nasdaq 100 futures increased by 0.4%, while S&P 500 futures increased by 0.3%.
Throughout the week, trading is anticipated to remain comparatively quiet. The New York Stock Exchange is closed on Christmas Day and closes early on Tuesday at 1 p.m. ET for Christmas Eve.
After a turbulent week, investors are optimistic that a so-called Santa Claus bounce could help the market close out 2024 on a positive note.
