Financial markets don’t seem to be going to continue as usual in the face of a catastrophic IT failure that is causing significant worldwide disruptions.
Despite the CrowdStrike issues that have affected banks, airlines, and several other organisations worldwide, officials at the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq reported that both markets are operational as of Friday.
A representative for the exchange stated on Friday that “NYSE markets are fully operational and we expect a normal open this morning.”
The Nasdaq, the preferred trading venue for tech stocks, has also announced that it has successfully navigated the problems resulting from an update that was deployed by the international cybersecurity company CrowdStrike.
