Friday saw a decline in stocks as Wall Street concluded a week characterised by a shift away from this year’s megacap champions and towards smaller names.
At 5,505.00, the S&P 500 closed down 0.71%. At 17,726.94, the Nasdaq Composite finished down 0.81%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped to 40,287.53—a decrease of 377.49 points, or 0.93%.
The Russell 2000 fell 0.63% on Friday, capping another day of losses in all markets.
However, the trend of the week continues to be a move into stocks like tiny caps that are thought to benefit more from Federal Reserve interest rate decreases.
