Monday saw a significant rally in the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which had suffered sharp losses earlier in the day when President Donald Trump announced that tariffs on Mexico would be suspended for a month.
At 44,421.91, the 30-stock average closed the day down 122.75 points, or 0.28%.
The Dow fell 665.6 points, or 1.5%, at its lowest points of the day.
Both the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite fell 1.2% to 19,391.96 and 0.76% to 5,994.57, respectively.
Rebounding to close more than 2% higher was the iShares MSCI Mexico ETF (EWW), which follows Mexican companies.
