The S&P 500 fell slightly on Wednesday as Wall Street awaited the publication of new inflation data later in the week.
The broad index fell 0.2%, while the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.4%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 13 points and was trading near flat.
