With a Widespread Relief Bounce, the Dow Ends its Three-Day Losing Streak about 300 Points Higher

A halt in recession fears and a rally in Japanese equities helped stocks rise on Tuesday, regaining some of the losses of the previous three trading days.

A gain of 294.39 points, or 0.76%, saw the Dow Jones Industrial Average close at 38,997.66. Closed at 5,240.03, the S&P 500 gained 1.04%.

To end at 16,366.85, the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite saw a rise of 1.03%. After losing three straight days, the major averages won. The broad market index’s eleven sectors all had favourable daily results.

Following a significant decline on Monday, some megacap tech stocks saw a resurgence as well. Meta Platforms increased by 3.9%, and Nvidia by 3.8%.
