PARIS — The newest foldable smartphones from Samsung were unveiled on Wednesday, and they are brimming with AI capabilities. By persuading consumers to replace their outdated devices, the South Korean electronics giant seeks to recapture market dominance in a product category that it invented.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 have been unveiled by the firm. These models are better than their predecessors and have been augmented with Galaxy AI, the artificial intelligence suite from the company.
At its Galaxy Unpacked event in Paris, Samsung announced that the Galaxy Z Fold6, which has a starting price of $1,899.99, is a foldable smartphone that opens like a book.
It features a 7.6-inch display when open and a triple-lens camera on the back, which is now standard for high-end phones.
The company claims that this is the company’s thinnest foldable to date, measuring just 12.1 millimetres thick when folded.
The Galaxy Z Flip6, on the other hand, opens like a traditional flip phone but has a bendable screen. Both devices are available starting on July 24, Samsung said.
