Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, claimed that the Biden Administration “pressed” Meta, the company that runs the social media giant, to “censor” content about Covid-19.
He also expressed sorrow for some of the choices made in response to the requests of the US government.
Writing to the Republican-led House Judiciary Committee, Zuckerberg stated, “In 2021, senior officials from the Biden Administration, including the White House, expressed a lot of frustration with our teams when we didn’t agree and repeatedly pressured our teams for months to censor certain COVID-19 content, including humour and satire.”
