Tuesday’s closing of the Dow Jones Industrial Average at a new high resulted in a small increase in U.S. stock futures.
The 30-stock average-linked futures saw an increase of 65 points, or roughly 0.16%. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 increased by 0.31% and 0.19%, respectively.
The Dow reached a record closing earlier in the day, rising 0.53%. During the session, the 30-stock index reached a record high as well. While the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.4%, the S&P 500 climbed 0.28%.
The thwarted attempt on the life of former President Donald Trump was seen by investors as a boon for the Republican presidential candidate and his party in November’s election.
Favourable tax and fiscal policies for investors may result from a GOP electoral triumph.
