Amazon announced Tuesday that its Prime Day megasale will return on July 16 and 17.
Like prior years, Amazon claimed the event will feature millions of deals, with new discounts dropping “as often as every five minutes during select periods throughout the event.”
The company will once again provide invite-only promotions, in which Prime subscribers can seek an invitation to receive discounts on items that normally sell out quickly.
It began offering invite-only bargains to Prime subscribers last year.
Amazon established Prime Day in 2015 to provide exceptional discounts to users of its flagship subscription programme.
Prime costs $139 a year and provides benefits such as fast shipping and access to streaming services.
The price extravaganza is intended to recruit new Prime subscribers, promote Amazon’s products and services, and increase sales during a typically slow shopping season.
