As Traders Aim to Build on Last Week’s Recovery, Stock Futures Modestly Rise

After nearly entirely recovering its brutal market meltdown last week, U.S. equities futures increased on Monday as investors anticipated important inflation data.

Futures connected to the Dow Jones Industrial Average saw a 64-point increase. Futures on the Nasdaq-100 increased by 0.3% while those on the S&P 500 increased by 0.3%.

The week ended on Friday with gains in all of the major averages, but they fell short of a complete rebound. The week saw a 0.6% decline in the Dow, a 0.04% decline in the S&P 500, and a 0.18% drop on the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite. Due to mounting worries about a slowdown in U.S. economic growth, Wall Street saw a dramatic sell-off last week.
