Monday saw a decline in stocks as traders assessed the most recent trade-related events to begin the week.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.4%, or 195 points. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 0.5%, while the S&P 500 dropped 0.4%.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated Monday that he anticipates “it’s going to be a busy couple of days” and that there would be multiple trade announcements over the next 48 hours.
