European Markets are Led by Chip Companies, with ASML Up 5% Following a Surge in Foxconn Revenue

On Monday, European markets rebounded from a rocky start to the year, with semiconductor companies leading the gains.

As of 9:22 a.m. U.K. time, the regional Stoxx 600 index was up 0.28%, with technology and cars leading the sector advances with increases of 2.9% and 1.8%, respectively.

Dutch semiconductor companies were among the best, with BE Semiconductor Industries up 3.3%, ASM International up 5%, and ASML up 5.2%.

Shares of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., a closely watched chipmaker, witnessed a good performance in Asia trade as well, closing at an all-time high after climbing 4.65%.
