On Wednesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average continued its upward climb, marking its sixth consecutive day of gains, despite some weakness in the tech sector.
The Dow rose by 0.44%, or 172.13 points, closing at 39,056.39 and achieving its longest winning streak so far in 2024. The S&P 500 saw a marginal decrease of 0.03 points, ending near the neutral point at 5,187.67. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite declined by 0.18% to finish at 16,302.76.
Uber stocks experienced a 5.7% drop following the company’s unexpected net loss and lower-than-anticipated bookings revenue. Intel also saw a decline of over 2% after revising down its second-quarter revenue forecast. In addition, Tesla shares decreased by 1.7% amidst reports that U.S. prosecutors are investigating potential wire fraud related to Tesla’s Autopilot systems.
