On Monday, stock futures saw a small increase as investors prepared for the much-awaited U.S. presidential election.
Dow Jones Industrial Average-related futures increased 33 points, or 0.1%, in value. Both the Nasdsq-100 and S&P 500 futures saw gains of 0.2%.
Following the announcement by S&P Dow Jones Indices late Friday that the chipmaker would replace rival Intel in the 30-stock Dow, Nvidia shares opened 2% higher in the premarket.
As Nvidia continues to overtake Intel in the race for artificial intelligence, the change will go into effect by the end of the week. Intel has lost more than half of its value in the past year, whereas Nvidia has increased by 173%.
