Tuesday saw minimal movement in stock futures as traders braced themselves for results announcements from large corporations following the benchmark’s strongest day in over a month.
Futures connected to the S&P 500 were trading close to zero. Trading in the Dow Jones Industrial Average futures increased by 40 points, or 0.1%. Futures for the Nasdaq-100 dropped 0.1%.
Earnings reports from Tesla and Google parent Alphabet are scheduled for after the bell. These reports will provide the Street with its first look at the performance of significant tech-related names in the second quarter.
General Motors, meanwhile, reported second-quarter earnings that significantly exceeded analyst projections and increased shares by around 5%. UPS’s stock dropped 7% after the company missed both its top and bottom lines.
