The Ernie chatbot from Baidu AI Cloud will be integrated, among other things, with Samsung Galaxy S24 devices to enable real-time call translation.
The Chinese tech firm has created Ernie, a chatbot that can provide responses to user queries that resemble humans, as a reaction to OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
It was unveiled one week ago by Samsung, the South Korean electronics behemoth hoping to surpass Apple with its newest iPhone models, which are equipped with artificial intelligence (AI).
The companies released a statement saying, “Now equipped with Ernie’s comprehension and creation powers, the enhanced Samsung Note Assistant can translate content and also summarise lengthy content into clear, intelligently organised formats at the touch of a button, streamlining the organisation of extensive text.”
Samsung was not one of the top 5 Chinese suppliers of smartphones.
