The Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday that Google is in advanced talks to buy cybersecurity company Wiz for $23 billion.
The Journal was informed by the persons aware that a deal might be reached shortly.
Since its founding in 2020, Wiz has expanded quickly under CEO Assaf Rappaport. As recently as May, when the business reached a $12 billion valuation, it had been considering an IPO.
Wiz’s representative declined to provide a statement. Large companies with substantial computing resources find Wiz’s cloud security product, which provides insight into a company’s whole cloud presence, to be appealing.
A number of prestigious companies, such as Sequoia Capital, Index Ventures, Insight Partners, and Israeli venture capital firm Cyberstarts, support it.
