President Donald Trump extended the deadline for a ban on TikTok, but Canadian investor Kevin O’Leary told CNBC that he is still interested in a deal, but that it is not viable under the existing law.
Trump issued a series of executive orders on Monday, delaying the implementation of a law that would essentially outlaw TikTok in the United States by 75 days to give “an opportunity to determine the appropriate course of action.”
In addition to promising the action in a social media post on Sunday, Trump hinted to a solution that would keep the platform, which is owned by the Chinese tech company ByteDance, operational under a joint venture with a 50% American share.
