On Tuesday, Microsoft unveiled brand-new data and AI technologies that are intended to make it simple for healthcare organisations to access and learn from the vast amounts of data that hospitals and doctors have amassed.
According to a recent Deloitte report, the health care and life sciences sector generates more than 30% of all data created globally. However, since it is spread out among numerous different systems and formats, it can be difficult to make use of all that data. For example, hospitals don’t use about 97% of the data they produce.
Microsoft stated at the HLTH conference in Las Vegas on Tuesday that it has created new health-care-specific tools in Fabric, a data and analytics platform that the company had unveiled in May, to assist in addressing this issue. Data from various sources, including electronic health records, pictures, lab systems, medical devices, and claims systems, can be combined so that organisations can standardise and access information in one location. The “time-consuming” procedure of searching through each source individually will be reduced, according to Microsoft, with the aid of the new tools.
