Stocks climbed moderately on Monday as Wall Street began a busy earnings week and concluded a profitable month.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 100.24 points, or 0.28%, to 33,559.53. The S&P 500 increased 0.15% to 4,588.96, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.21% to 14,346.02.
Stocks ended July on a high note. The S&P 500 gained 3.1%, marking the first time since August 2021 that the index has had five consecutive months of gains. The Nasdaq Composite gained 4.1% and achieved its fifth consecutive month of gains for the first time since April 2021.
