Prior to the closing of the acquisition, Google had been in talks to buy HubSpot, a provider of marketing software. Next, the business tried to acquire cybersecurity startup Wiz. That, however, also did not occur. To close its one noteworthy transaction of late, Google adopted a different strategy.
Last month, Google revealed that it was employing the founders of the generative AI startup Character, adopting a strategy similar to that of Amazon and Microsoft to entice artificial intelligence specialists.AI.
Google kept the firm alive and struck a licensing agreement for its technology rather than purchasing Character entirely and closing it down—the conventional acquihire approach.
